that's how the flower stems are naturally they don't need staking.

The plant now is in winter rest. There are only pesudobulbs now.

They are flowering now here in australia since we have opposite seasons.

It is a widespread species. Interestingly, the wild plants have never been found in north Taiwan. They are restricted to warmer region.

Yeah its quite warm where we live here. what part of Taiwan do you live in? What is your minimum winter temperature there? we get close to freezing on some winter nights. Winter nights down to about 1 to 2 C. Winter days cool to warm. Summers here hot and humid. Here the species is always near the coast and usually in rather sandy soil at lower altitudes near sea level.
