Oh Disneyland needs orchids.
Maybe I can slip an oncidium in their bromeliad section.

Another update...
Sick of them yet?
The schoenorchis was in a kelp bath during this photo session.

The lepanthes has two buds open together at the same time! For the first time!

The lepanthopsis is so close to open!

And I discovered, that one of the growths that sent out one of my original spikes, is in double spike!
You can kinda see both in the picture.

The other haraella has a nice big bud.

And the Pleuro that TommyMiami sent is doing great. Can't wait to see blooms down the line. The moss under it went nuts too!

Speaking of moss.
I'd like to talk about my moss real quick.
I seem to have two types of moss growing in my lantern.
One is fluffy and slower growing.

The other is stringy and fast.

I prefer the slow one but like the variety.

Each time I go to the pet supply store I look for large lava rock like yours but usually it's small stuff. So for now I'll just gaze at your creation!

Perhaps you can arrange a few smaller pieces together. That's what I did. The main piece really isn't that big. It rests on a foundation of smashed ones.

So close!
Only a few flowers are open on the lepanthopsis, and the telipogoniflora is dropping it's flower the day the haraella opens.

I saw a thread once.
I think it was TommyMiami. Titled "Lepanthopsis astrophora with 11 spikes!".
It was a few weeks or months after I got mine and I thought "That's gorgeous! If only mine would bloom. I can only imagine how long it will take for me to get a plant with near 11 spikes."

So today, while I was taking these photos, I had to laugh. I have not only around 11 spikes, but exactly 11 spikes!

There's a bud swelling on my lepanthes. I hope it opens while the other two are open.

Such a magical creation that keeps evolving to be better each time I see it...still lovin' those 'shrooms tho! I think you and Tommy should collaborate on a book!

Thanks!
I've been waiting and waiting for my craft store to get the right clay in. I wanna try another round of shrooms.

Perfect.
It'll be titled "Just add water! A beginner's guide to advanced orchids"

Do lepanthopsis astrophora keiki?
I think mine has a keiki.
If you look close this photo, you can see a tiny leaf on a stem, and two other leaves emerging from where the spikes form.
As well as a plethora of roots.

It's almost as small as the flowers.

Well...
Psh....
I got very sick for a week and a half. And my boyfriend took care of my orchids.
He did a great job, but I'm pretty sure he fertilized the crap out of everything.
My big orchids are fine.
This lantern though. A lot of the moss was dead, biggest sign of over fertilizing.
The lepanthopsis, and two plueros are just as I left them.
The lepanthes blasted almost every spike.
The haraella were the biggest surprise to me. The spikes blasted, and all the roots went black and died off. Very sad.
And I think he forgot about the fragrans, as it almost certainly didn't get watered.

It's quite discouraging to see actually.
