The darker lip one you have is quite nice. Some of the ones grown here are in an unheated greenhouse that gets down in to the low 40s. That doesn't say much though because they stay dry all winter.
Im going to try to establish one of the lesser forms to tree culture this spring.
All the cultural information I've found says to give them a dry rest in the winter. It seems like mine are always producing new growths and there is never really an opportunity to give them a dry rest. They bloom nevertheless, though not on every growth.
The price for the var. coerulea is a higher than the normal pink form. I agree $50 is a bit too much for just a blooming size seedling, but if it is a good clone, $50 is a good price.
