Hi all. I'm finally back from Mexico. It took me 48 hours to get out of the country! Anyway, it looks like you all have been busy while I was gone. It's going to take me a week to get caught up with all the posts. Looks like we have a great plant list started. My only issue will be with plants that require high humidity. If they can get by with 60-70% that will work best for me. Our summers are very dry, and the plants are in my bedroom so don't want to run a humidifier.

Welcome back, Terri! Are you saying it took you 48 hours to get out of the US? Or out of Mexico and back into the US?!

I believe a bletia was accepted as a plant in one of our last projects (4 or 5?) but it was of another species .. I do like that plant
I'm only sorry that Pleiones are too cool growing .. they would have been something fun to try
Check them out - Thumbnails

Out of Mexico back into the US. When Atlanta shut the airport down because of the tornado or whatever it was, it backed flights up all over the US. Our flight was 2 hrs late arriving from Chicago because there were too many planes on the ground at one time. We missed the last connecting flight out of Mexico City to San Francisco, so had to spend the night and most of the following day in Mexico City. It was quite the little adventure.

oh yeah... they are gorgeous (the Pleiones, I mean)... I have been always tempted to give them a try... but am afraid I would kill them... I could indeed provide them with the right temps but they seem to be quite tricky...

dang ramon those are beautiful! I didn't know bletia was so diverse...I find these so much more attractive than striata (maybe I'm just bitter cause mine doesn't bloom!) They're on my wish list now!

Terri, Glad you're back home safe and sound! Sounds like quite an adventure!

You will laugh about this Shakkai, but this is the only plant for which I have been in the situation... Not even with Disas, which are also very tricky, and which I managed to kill in "tempo record"
