Ok people
As a last hurrah to orchid finding .. I went to Paramount, Clouds and Orchids in Our Tropics - the Canadian vendors and made a list of all the phals available .. then I went to Jay's and found their size and growing temps - I eliminated all the medium sized, cool growers and hot growers and am left with this list .. please assist me with whether they fit the criterion (growing temps)( Sue, maybe you can check out some in OrchidWiz) and whether available in US or EU .. I'm a bit burnt from all the research ..

Clouds-
Phal javanica - -hot to warm
Paramount-
Phal celebensis -miniature warm to hot
Phal Cochlearis - small sized, warm growing
Phal corningiana -small sized, hot to warm
Phal cornu cervi-small sized, hot to warm
Phal fuscata -small to medium sized, hot to warm
Phal lobbii-dwarf hot to warm growing
Phal lowii-cool to warm growing, miniature
Phal mariae-small sized, warm to hot
Phal parishii-hot to warm growing, miniature
Phal philippinensis-small sized, warm
Phal pulchra-small sized, cool to warm growing
Phal sanderiana-warm to hot
Phal tetraspis 'alba'- hot to warm
Phal virides -small sized, hot to warm

Orchids in Our Tropics-
Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi-small sized, hot to warm
Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi 'alba'
Phalaenopsis lowii-cool to warm growing, miniature
Phalaenopsis parishii-hot to warm growing, miniature
Phalaenopsis philippinensis-small sized, warm
Phalaenopsis pulchra-small sized, cool to warm growing
Phalaenopsis viridis-small sized, hot to warm

My, what a busy girl you've been!

We've eliminated anything that says hot-warm so that knocks out the majority of all your hard work

We can go with:

Phal lowii-
IOSPE PHOTOS
Small, leaves 2-4", spike 10-15"

but
Phal pulchra-
IOSPE PHOTOS
small sized, cool to warm growing
Moderate - can get large - no good for our project

is on the list that Niki did last night (2 pages back)

Thanks D...I just wish you hadn't done so much work :

One of these days, we're going to have to do simultaneous projects... a large plant and a mini, and everyone gets to pick a side.

That's really funny, Jasen!

The work that goes into choosing just one is more than anybody not involved in the process could possibly understand. If our last two weekend chats could've been recorded and shown to the rest of the board, everybody would see just what goes into this...and probably question our sanity

We'll stick with what we've got...and we can choose larger or more localized temperature range plants as our traveling companions

oooh I love the newest additions - I didn't want to recommend any angs (even though I love them) because I was scared they were already done in previous projects. Can't wait till the voting, the deciding, the buying, and the growing!

We were originally avoiding any previously used genus but with only 7 spots to fill, we can now suggest whatever fits the criteria regardless of whether the genus has been used in the past.

go for them baby!

Love them all

it will be difficcult to choose "my 5 favorites"... for sure the list will be probably longer and what does not make it until the end here, will for sure make it as companion (well, after Lycaste aromatica has occupied its place in the box )
