All great choices! We have a few to discuss next weekend

While searching or either Laelia, also look for Sophronitis because they went ahead and changed the names!

I love that Phal...can't use it for the project because it's not available in Canada...but once again, you've contributed to my ever-growing personal wish-list!!!

Now, I have one for you...Phal bastanii...it's a warm-hot grower so can't be in the project but I need it!!!
I just received my little bastanii from Oak Hill Gardens. . .it's cute!! You DO need one.

forgot to add this before:

It's not urgent that we add more to our list...we have enough to work with. I'm just one of those people who like working with even numbers like 30

If anybody finds something in the next two weeks that would fit the project, by all means, post it here and we'll look into it. If not, we're set for the next step of the project which will be the first week of April.

I will be sending out a PM to all participants on the list asking for their favorite FIVE from our current plant list. Once I get all the responses back, I'll post the member names next to each plant...the top TEN plants will then go into our final poll...where we each get just ONE vote

A bit of forewarning regarding the poll:

I always ask in BIG BOLD letters that only members on the project list vote in the poll...but we always get some folks who get caught up in the excitement and vote although they shouldn't. When this happens, the numbers in the poll get skewed. I will keep track of the valid votes in my own notes because the vote count cannot be adjusted in the poll itself.

Here's another list with the ones I skipped before. These are found in Canada, the US and the EU. Whittle as you please. Kinda surprising how many of these genii are hot growers.... I'd thought there would have been more.

Paphiopedilum gratrixianum
IOSPE PHOTOS

I forget which Laelia won it last time. Someone else can look for them
FYI: I have had a Paph. gratrixianum in the past and it most certainly was not "small sized". Huge leaf span and very tall spikes! I had to get rid of it because it just took up too much space for me!
