We had a great chat tonight...and will be adding 4 new additions to the list!
Den tetragonum, Bulb ambrosia, Bulb sumantran and Den lodegessii
They bring our total to 23...I'd like to get to 30 and we thought maybe we can find the last 7 using any genus that has been previously used in our projects
so...
Phal, Angraecum, Paph, Aerangis and Laelia are now in the running
Remember...small, intermediate and available in the US, Canada and Europe...
Happy hunting

Ok... I didn't go to bed...I lied!
Here's another list with the ones I skipped before. These are found in Canada, the US and the EU. Whittle as you please. Kinda surprising how many of these genii are hot growers.... I'd thought there would have been more.
Angraecum didieri (gets a second chance, dammit)

Newp.... I can't find it here.
We have Kingidium chibae, and -possibly- Kingidium minus (Paramount's site says they are sold out) But I don't see any info on either on ISOPE.
Edit: They are listed under Phaleanopsis on ISOPE:
Kingidium chibae

Kingidium minus

Both are warm to hot, which means we can't use them anyway

We appreciate what you've done

Angraecum didieri (gets a second chance, dammit)
IOSPE PHOTOS
8"
Angraecum elephantinum
IOSPE PHOTOS
moderately small (?)
Phalaenopsis kunstleri
IOSPE PHOTOS
Medium (all the previous "mediums" were rejected for being too big, I think we'll stay away from them )
Phalaenopsis pulchra
IOSPE PHOTOS
Moderate - can get large - no good for our project
Phalaenopsis venosa
IOSPE PHOTOS
Moderate
Paphiopedilum henryanum
IOSPE PHOTOS
14" tall. 14" wide - no good for our project
Paphiopedilum gratrixianum
IOSPE PHOTOS
12" tall, 10" spike (the 12" is at the high end of our criteria but the 10" spike makes it too large for us)
Paphiopedilum barbatum
IOSPE PHOTOS
Medium - (let's avoid medium)
Paphiopedilum callosum
IOSPE PHOTOS
Medium - 20" leaf span - no good for our project
Paphiopedilum spicerianum
IOSPE PHOTOS
Moderate, 5-14" spike
Paphiopedilum delenatii
IOSPE PHOTOS
Small
Aerangis citrata
IOSPE PHOTOS
Mini
Aerangis distincta
IOSPE PHOTOS
12" tall, 11" spike
Aerangis spiculata
IOSPE PHOTOS
Large, with spikes reaching 12-30" - no good for our project
I forget which Laelia won it last time. Someone else can look for them

LOL...seems D has been doing that
I'm adding her suggestions and the info here:
Laelia pumilla
IOSPE PHOTOS
8"
Laelia lundii
IOSPE PHOTOS
3 1/2 - 7"
***When searching for either of these Laelia, also look for Sophronitis...name has been changed
I've put all entries which will not work for our project in italics and red.
Those that may work are sized in green.
There are a few I'm questioning...in Sienna
Is anybody familiar with the size of these plants? Not sure what to make of "moderate"

I love that Phal...can't use it for the project because it's not available in Canada...but once again, you've contributed to my ever-growing personal wish-list!!!
Now, I have one for you...Phal bastanii...it's a warm-hot grower so can't be in the project but I need it!!!

the party was great... a very nice different wedding party... my friend booked a whole hotel in the Alps for all of us and we had a lot of fun. A mix between swiss and brasilian traditions...
