Alrighty then found the cord. I'm going to put up pics when I first got it and now. Still don't know if it's a root or not but I'm just going to guess root.
The first 2 are when I got it.

Looking good, no-pro-mwa!
In other news, mine has been attacked by a critter!
Can you believe it left all my other plants alone and went straight for this baby leaf? What a creep. Anyway. I sprayed everything with permethrin and sprinkled slug pellets all around.

I'm sure it is, it's just not growing as fast as the other one. But that is probably because we have had a cold front and it's been slowed down.

I just received kelp/seaweed stuff from Amazon and so my monticola is trying it out, along with the other orchids. The stuff is not supposed to smell but either my nose is sensitive or that might have been a little fib.

I think they'd have trouble selling it if they said," This stuff works really good, but it does kind of stink ."

Probably. I use some other fertilizers, though, that are also pretty bad...always outside, though.

What exactly is inocucor?
If the product works as everyone says it is, maybe soon I will have new roots to report...something at least. My project plant needs to be a little more exciting to compete with the Angraecums (now that is sad).

I am now getting better progress. The new leaf is getting bigger faster and also existing root growth seems to have increased. A new root is also starting off the stem.
What has changed for me is the temperature difference between night and day. Australia has sustained an Antarctic blast right across the country resulting in lower than usual temps. My night time temps are getting down to 12C (53.6f) whilst day times are hovering around 25C (77f).
It may be the case that this plant likes temperature variance.
