Its ok. By the end of the week I will have placed an order for 1 or 2 paphs (depending on which Phal I will get) so its not a huge deal.

Keep your fingers crossed so your plant wins! Even though that won't work for all of us, it couldn't hurt!

4 people asked to join after I said sign up was closed. 1 of those people voted. I think I'm just going to have to let those people join, because they are just going to end up buying the plant anyway. Just hop there's enough to go around.

Normally there's the spring project, often another one in the summer (July or so) and once in a while we do a 'quickie' in the fall. In a quickie the entire process takes a week rather than the usual 4-6 weeks.

So sad for the Paph. Nobody likes a lady!!! LOL

Oh, I LOVE the lady. As a matter of fact, this particular lady is already on her way to my home. I just figured I wanted the project plant to be from a different genera since I'm a Phal and Paph girl.

I really hope everyone will be able to find a plant. That would really suck if some people couldn't find one.

My personal choice was
1) Soph
2) Paph
3) Bulbo
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people wanted either the Soph or the Bulbo, with Paph as second choice.

LOL.
Seems to me a problem with the bulbo is that once you want it, you can't just want one, because it comes in so many different forms.
Which reminds me, I had an idea for a future project of a different kind. I wondered if people would be interested in getting young plants of a new hybrid and raising them? Personally I have a Brassostele (I think!) Senne Stern seed-grown young plant, and I love it that I may have something totally unique and fabulous. It's going to be so exciting when it flowers (if it does! LOL) I guess it would have to be region by region (unless we happen to find two sellers who just happen to be trying the same cross!) Anyone?

That's a good idea, and I agree that it would have to be region by region.

For me the Paph was a must have as soon as I laid eyes on it. The reason I went with the Soph is because when the project is over I know my friend will want it so I can give it to her then (unless I kill mine of course). In other words, the Paph was my first choice, everything else came in second.
