Still going to wait for all the replies though before starting the poll, to at least make sure that the plants are in stock (and not just an outdated listing on the websites).

The Soph won by a landslide. It wasn't even a consideration for me but even I am admitting that it is likely the inevitable choice.

I don't think we should worry about it until later. Rarely does everyone try to purchase from the same place. Some of us have sellers we like to check with locally that may only have one or 2 but that will make the others available to the rest of us.

The cernua might not necessarily win. Only half the participants voted for it, and some of those people might of voted for it but liked one of the other top five better. So, you never know. And we have 46 participants now, so the next pole could turn out different. 50% isn't the majority its only half. Of course it has a good shot!

And don't forget that everyone only gets to choose one the next time, not five. Those of us who liked the soph. But it was not our favorite may choose something else the next time.

That's exactly what I was thinking!

I hope Camille has better luck with the vendor responses. I have had some vendors take weeks to get back to me and some don't get back to you at all. It's also show season so they are gone a lot and busy. Maybe some of us Americans should help and call some vendors if they don't respond soon.

On the list, I've only ever dealt with Hausermann's and Oakhill and they've been great getting back. If they have any of the plants on the top choices, I'd be happy to get in touch.

On the vote it may go the other way too. If cornu cervi is off then none of my top 5 are on. And I did say at the time that one of my choices was between the cernua and rubra... and it was a close choice!

I am so ready to vote. I want a new orchid so bad!!!! If we don't vote soon I am just going to start buying.. Arg why are they so addicting. And it's my birthday tomorrow I don't need to be spending any money but I am having an internal argument about it being a present for myself. Stupid self control

I think you should be able to buy one or more for your birthday! That's the best time to buy cause you got an excuse! Anyway have a happy birthday!
