Don't worry, I saw your Den lawesii post the first time around While at work I only read/reply to posts, i don't have time for modifying the plant list. I have not forgotten the 2 Bulbos either!

Anyway it doesn't matter, no blooming sized ones in Canada, and over the limit in the USA. I'll put it directly in the 'doesn't meet criteria' list

That's exactly why I didn't object to it being missed!
As an aside, can I confirm that 'near blooming size' or 'will bloom in the next year' is OK? If it is, I won't eliminate those ones when I'm trying to find growers.

NBS is near blooming size which isnt blooming size. so i can safely say that i dont think that fits criteria, or the criteria would say NBS or BS.... as for should bloom within a year, i would think that classifies as blooming size, not sure what others think about that one though.

It also largely depends on the plant. At least over here, the way I understand it NBS means blooming within a year, because otherwise you see 12-18 month, 12-24months... But I guess it could mean a lot longer than a year for say, fall blooming plants. It means that they shouldn't be expected to bloom until fall 2013...
I did change it to BS or NBS in the criteria, maybe I shouldn't have. If I reverse it I have to go through ALL the growers one by one again, which took me over 3 hours last night! Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend....

Don't do that! If I bought a NBS plant, I would just take my chances that it might not bloom until autumn next year. If all the participants are aware of that and are OK with it, then surely you can just leave it as is?

Thinking back, I think most are blooming size anyway. And since there's no contest involved like in some of the earlier projects, maybe it doesn't matter so much.

And if some people really want something that will bloom this year, they will just end up voting for the candidates that they can buy at blooming size.

When doing all of that last night, I was thinking that maybe Onc ornithorhynchum and Den moniliforme should be taken off the list. The Onc is under the price limit apparently only at SBOE, and I remember that for some states there's a one month quarantine period.
As for the Den, originally it was at Andy's, but it disappeared off their catalogue. Now there's only New World Orchids, and there is not a single price listed on their website.
Can someone go back to the list of growers Shadytrake posted a few days ago and see if they can find them elsewhere?
