Agree. If anyone else want to debate it with me, start a new thread. I'm not starting one because I think I've covered it! LOL

I have double checked US and Canada price, blooming size and availability for the candidates. I'll do EU tomorrow. I'll have to email growers after the first poll, some plants already sold out in some places since they were initially checked.
I put Encyclia cochleata in the 'good' list I found it everywhere now.

I'll check/add the Bulbos tomorrow (the Catts are all too large).

I've just been doing an extensive search for possible US growers for Phal parishii. I found 2 or 3, but none in the right price range. I don't think we're going to find a US grower for it - perhaps it should be moved to the 'don't meet requirements' list? What a shame - it's so lovely.

I'll move it then. I had also looked, but no luck.

And I'm still going to buy a Phal parishii! Mine died (it didn't do well mounted) so I really want another because it's too cute. And easy to bloom.

If they're selling those at the same grower I end up buying the project plant from it will go on my list too! I promised myself I wasn't going to buy anything other than the project plant until we have our orchid show in April, but I can't help myself - I want them all!

I think it should be the same fate for Sarcochilus fitzgeraldii. I found two additional growers where the price was in range, but one had very limited stock and the other wanted a minimum order of $50 + $4 handling fee per plant + shipping (I think that's probably a bit excessive). Plus, there's no indication on either if the plants are blooming size.

Polystachya paniculata can be found at Paramount for $28-30 nfs. That's the best I got for that one though. Species

I found a grower in the EU for Sophronitis acuensis http://www.neworchidsp.fr/catalogue/...es/page/19/nom, but nothing for Canada. I suppose that should go to the 'don't meet requirements' list as well.

Well I think the description I read must have meant 10 feet instead of 10"

I think we can safely exclude this one!

Thumbs up Den lawesii?

This is a great vibrant color Dendrobium and it is compact. It looks large in a lot of pictures, but I have a mature plant and it is max 12" long. I grow it intermediate.

I really like Den trantuanii (aka tuananhii) but the only vendor in CAN who has it is Clouds and it is listed as LS.
