I had one years ago but I had some health issues and had to sell a lot of my plants cause I couldn't take care of all of them. I don't remember how I did growing it but I really would like to have one again. I love the waxy flowers and the dark color!

SBOE has it for $17.50.
I haven't checked internationally yet. With so many bulbos out there, we should try to add a few of the non-smelly.
This one runs on the warm side of Intermediate but mine frequently gets down to the 50s in the GH during winter so it should be okay. It is cute for a bulbo.

Temps are going to be more of an issue for people than size, I for one know that I can't provide cool temps in the winter (I live in a small apartment).

thats just what i found on a culture sheet, she has hands on experience, so by all means, take it off the list, with all these other suggestions, i dont even know if i'd vote for it! lol

humid, definitely humid. this past weekend, Michael Ooi did a talk on violacea and bellina at the IPA event, he said they grow best and fastest at higher temps, but bloom best at temperatures lower than that.

could always email or call peter and tell him what we are doing, and see if he would be able to get them.

OMG!!!! This has been the most intense plant suggestion thread EVER!!!! Ok, I just read through like 4 pages, so I am going to comment on a few things I saw.
-Epi. stamfordianum, I've read is an extremely cool grower, with canes reaching over 3', and the inflorescences getting likewise as large.
-The rupicolous Laelias would be awesome candidates, as I am sure they can take a very wide temperature ranges.
-Phal. bellina is unfortunately, probably one of the warmest growing phals.
-I like some of The Mutants suggestions. Going along with bellina not being included, I think violacea wouldn't be included. I know that lindenii is supposed to be the coolest growing of all Phal species, and wilsonii being slightly warmer growing, and celebensis slightly warmer than wilsonii.

Epi. stamfordianum isn't a cool grower. There was one on our society's bloom table last week grown outside in Louisiana. It was also only about 18" in height counting the spikes.

Agreed, it grows naturally in the Llanos from Venezuela and you almost never get below 25C over there... It can however adapt very well to intermediate conditions... I also know it from being a small species (I grew up in the llanos from Venezuela ), but apparently, Orchidwiz indicates some plants can have very large spikes... So, we better let it out of this

I found growers in all areas for Aerangis biloba, so I moved it up into the suitable plant list.

Aside from me being away, it's difficult to do it earlier since Canadians may be unable to order still.

what if we all teamed up and checked to see what is available on the list from growers, so we can have the poll ready when you leave. that way we dont have to research them after. it would help with indecision on the voting side

That's what I was in the process of doing, so help would be appreciated!! I already did a bunch, and didn't find them in Europe, so I'll move them to the 'NO' list now.
I'm going through the very slow process of double checking all the growers of the candidates to make sure that price ranges are ok.
