I've added C luteola to the list but it's not available at either Paramount or Cloud's in Canada.
The C maxima is gorgeous but too big for our project plant

Dorothy,
Are you in DLST? I need this info to schedule the correct chat time!
Thanks in advance!

I don't know how many people already have this in their collection, but it looks wonderful to me!
Sedirea japonica
or for something a little differnt:
Gomesa crispa
PS. I think we should re-do the 'How many orchids do you grow poll' after the project as well... I've found so many new ones to try!!

Thanks for the offer to help get the wording right... I'm sure that will help a lot!
Gennaro, where do you normally get your orchids from? Do you have a preferred supplier?
|
I normally get orchid from Nardotto e Capello ( www.nardottoecapello.it), they are very reliable and have low prices. To see their orchid list do as follows: on the orchid list button on the main page select "specie botaniche" then download.xls! They ship in EU... but actually is quite expensive!!!
If you have other suggestion please let me check them!
Bye!!!

Yes we are...but the chat will be going on for a while so there's no need to be prompt
...has been suggested and it is a lovely chid but I researched it and found that the life expecatncy is only three years...we'd all like something that lasts a bit longer than that
...is awesome but it's a cool-grower and won't work for a large portion of our project members. Isn't it awesome to find these "new" and interesting 'chids along the way? With all the time I've spent looking at 'chids, I've never seen this one! Thanks for showing it to us

Gennaro, Looks like a great place with quite a wide selection!!
A place that I will be ordering from shortly is Deva Orchids
Also Akerne has a nice variety of things.
I have been very pleased with Burnham Orchids and Ratcliffe Orchids
As I mentioned, selection at these is a bit hit and miss - evn when they have a very wide variety, so depending on what plant we finally choose for the project, several of these places may not have it.

If you...or any of our European friends...can find any of the plants on our list at any of these places, post the info here and I'll add it to the master list.
Another idea...take a look at the plants in any of those places...and we'll see if they are available here in the U.S. and Canada

Dorothy did some research and reported back in this post.
I will search out the rest and see what I can find.
PS. Gennaro, looking again at the supplier you mentioned, I see Ireland on the list for shipping, but not UK? Did I miss it?
