CUTE Becca!! I see yours are opening randomly too. I thought that was kind of strange. Maybe I'm just too used to the way phals open. Great growing!

Congrats! Great growing! I think Becca is right though. It looks like it may be missing some petals.

Congrats, Julie! Way to go! It will be interesting to see it when all of the flowers are open - be sure to post more photos, will you?

Great going, Becca! Beautiful flowers. I can't remember, is your plant potted or mounted?

Congrats, Becca! I say again: "can't wait for mine"!!!
I think the moderators could make a table with the Project 4 plants progess: owner, when it arrived, if arrived with or w/o spike, if it's potted or mounted (as Shakkai asked), the date of opening of the first bud, last bud and so on. What do you think about it?

Last edited by Frdemetr; 12-07-2007 at 04:37 PM.. Reason: change 'mediators' for 'moderators'!

Kiki-do, the spike is around 4.5 inches, I expected it to be a lot longer and I thought I read on one of the care sheets they would be longer, perhaps they are longer when the plant is more mature?

Terri, I thought the sequence of opening was strange to, but I was prepared for it since that is how yours opened! The very last bud on the spike closest to the bottom looks really underdeveloped still, is yours that way?

Shakki, mine came potted and in spike. I would like to mount mine, but is it possible with the way the roots have been growing in the pot? I would think it would be difficult to mount after it has been growing this way for awhile. I want to find some of those small sized mounts for mounting some of my orchids on, they are just so natural looking when mounted on them!

A table like that would be cool, but it could be very time consuming to put together.

Just give me a little time and I'll get it done

Becca, your plant is such a little cutie! Congrats!

I'm going to work on a chart for us...so all participants should expect a possible PM from me. I'll need some help

-OR-

you can all send a PM or email ( cb977@orchidboard.com ) to me with your project 4 plant information. It would get the process started for me

Congrats Julie!

If you got your plant with no spike on arrival, I believe you are our first to get blooms in that category!

Am I right?
