The Oncidium variegatum is synonymous with Tolumnia variegata- which is cheaper at OH than at AO- $12 BS. Oak Hill Gardens mounted or potted.

Dave, I have a suggestion for when we finally narrow down the list. We could rate each plant with a scale of 1-10, and average out the scores to choose the plants to be on the poll.
Just bored at work really.

I like the idea, since we have almost as many plants as people participating.

I agree, it's a good idea of a way to choose with so many suggestions.
It might not be possible with a standard OB poll, but seeing as the poll often has to be manually counted due to votes from people not taking part... why not just have a poll by manually counting from people posting their vote as an reply to a thread.

Rosie,
That sounds good, we could have everyone quote the list, and rate each plant, then create a poll for the top 3 plants. If people who aren't on the project vote, we could cross reference, and make it so their votes don't count. (been wanting to use that all day.)

I get the feeling that people might think top three is too limiting.

I wouldn't think the top 3 is too limiting. With the number of people participating (20 currently) the rating system should work good to establish the ones people would prefer most. The only snag I could see is if there are ties... but if no ties put the top 3 in the poll, if there are ties, include more. Ex... if two plants are tied for first, include them both in the poll, as well as the plants that came in 2nd & 3rd. Would that work?
Just throwing some ideas out there

The problem with the Den aberrans on Larry's Orchids, is that he's just selling 1 specimen, not multiples.
I don't know if he's got more in stock.
