For a general idea of temp ranges, I'm using this:

Thanks for checking availability...and noticing the size, Camille

Oops, I forgot to say that Cattleya forbesii is not at Clouds (only on a list that comes up in the search engine, but not in the catalogue) and the one at Paramount is seedling size. Looks like only Angraecum didieri is good out of the four!

Welllll...actually, no
This is the entry for the didieri on the tentative list now:

Angraecum didieri
IOSPE PHOTOS
Size: up to 8"
Temps: days 82-84, nights 64-65
*Only available in Canada at OIUT for $35
|
I don't want to put a $35.00 plant on the list. It will just create confusion...and I'm confused enough
The only one I added to the list is Paph henryanum...only because Ramon wanted it so badly

I think I found two possible project plants that are available in the US, EU and Canada....price might be a problem. Are we shooting for $25.00?
Epidendrum fragrans (encyclia fragrans): Paramount nfs for $28.00, J & L nbs for $18.00 and several vendors in Europe at close to J & L's price. (Euros)

Helcia sanguinolenta: Paramount fs for $30.00, Andy's bs for $24.00 and Europe close to this.

$25 or below is what we try for...of course, if there's something spectacular for just a few dollars more, we'd have to get a general feeling from the players about it but it's not out of the question
That being said, this is from our tentative list;
Quote:
Encyclia fragrans EU/CAN/USA
(CAN: also in this page The Orchid Shop - Home)
size 16"*,
days 77-79, nights 61-63, can adapt up to 6 degrees warmer or cooler
|
Too big
On the other hand...I like that second one. I'll do the research on it tomorrow
Thanks

If it fits what your looking for, try seeing if Botanica Ltd has them. They've had them frequently on Ebay in the past. They're also very easy to deal with.

Speaking of Botanica Ltd...
Joann, they still haven't responded to your question?

No they haven't. If I don't hear back by tomorrow afternoon, I'll send a 2nd request and ask about the Helica too.

Thank you... and believe me, even if OW says up to 14" it normally never gets that big..
