I am busy at the moment but yes, that sounds fine as long as it fits our criteria and is available, let's discuss it in the next chat. Can one of you (either Melissa or Camille) remember to suggest it if I forget to do anything with it?

Melissa, I made myself a note to add your name to those plants.

I'll take care of it later

The Cochleanthes amazonica is beautiful but Orchid Web and Clouds both only have medium seedlings. Are were using seedlings for the project plants?

Good point. I didn't go check the websites, so didn't see that. The project plant has to be blooming size (or near blooming size). 2 years until blooming is an awefully long time! Looks like we're going to have to take it off the list.

We usually try for near blooming sized...if those aren't available then blooming size would be next in line.

No seedlings for the project

Yes 'Dad'! And what about you, what are you doing up at 1am? Actually, technically I'm working on my entomology essay, but you can clearly see that it's not the case!

Regarding Cloud's orchids, you should probably contact Warren or Claudio. He probably has very limited numbers of this one. I only remember noticing a couple when I was up there poking through the greenhouse.

What about adding this one to the list. It was discussed in the mystery project...not sure if it was used or not.

Maxillaria variabilis
IOSPE PHOTOS
*Note: there is also a red version of this.

Size up to 8", moderate bright dappled light, summer temps 81F-83F, nights 59F-60F, humidity 70-75% then 55-60% during winter rest, potted or mounted
(W)

US - Andy's, SBOE,
CAN - Not sure...need to do some more looking
EU - was available at last check for the mystery project not sure if still available
AUT - Hills District Orchids...but I can't find price

or the Maxillaria cucullata (I think it's a little bigger)
IOSPE PHOTOS

US - Andy's
CAN - Paramount
EU - Not sure
AUT - Hills District I think

What do you think? I'll do some more research later...off to Orchid meeting.
