Thanks Shakkai! I am going to try tonight to take the photos as long as I can find the camera.
Shams, this was the first show that I have gone to and honestly, I think I had sensory overload! I would have loved to stay longer and really look and learn, however my friend tagged along and she isn't an orchid enthusist. I ended up pre-ordering my Sedierea and Neo from OakHill and picking them up there to avoid shipping costs. Neither are in spike, but after seeing them in person, I can't wait until they decide to grace me with their beauty!

Was there much difference in the blooms of the different Sedireas?

I have no idea!
There wasn't a separate description of the flower for Minimaru on New World Order's website, so I assume they are the same, but maybe smaller. There are varieties of sedirea that have some difference in the flower... but I'm not sure for the minimaru.
The reason I got the minimaru, was because I was getting neos also, and I can get the regular Sedirea japonica easily in Canada, whereas getting the Minimaru wasn't available from vendors here.

I've made my rock and pot selection for the sedirea. . .wanna see?
My Plan: Rock Sedirea w/Moss in an Exo Tank
Secure the rock in the pot, somehow.
Attach baby minmaru to the rock. . .the goal is to grow it bare root over the rock but I am thinking that maybe I should add sphagnum temporarily but pull it away bit by bit? Slowly over time?
Find out what kind of moss I could buy, don't want to wait on spores, that would be beeeutiful and maybe even flower. . .something tiny in the bottom of the pot surrounding the rock.
Once I figure out. . .ur, when you guys tell me what I should buy. . .the type of moss to use, the I need to find out what sort of soil to add for that moss to grow at its best.
Any help or warnings. . .would, as always, be so appreciated.
Here is a picture of my rock selection and new pot.

Hi Gwen
Sounds good. If you're ever going to use sphag for anything, in my opinion it's best to spend a little more and go for the "good stuff". Look for the long-fibered blond sphag rather than the stuff you can get in HD or Walmart.

I got a brick, for just this occassion from NWO. . .it's long-fibered. I got it to make my mini moss mountains.
Speaking about sphag. . .I dunked a couple of my new neos in a fertilizer mix. . .MSU in RO water. And now the moss mound is really getting green. I thought it might be algae or something not good, but I THINK it might be live moss. Is that possible?
Is this a good thing or not?
