I bought this wonderful Bif. inodora yellow form earlier couple of months ago. It was potted in small-ish wood slat basket, and it almost fully filled the entire basket.
I was told that Bifrenarias do not like being moving around, so I was planning to give it a repot next year, by putting the basket into much bigger one... But the basket had gotten a serious fungal rot during this year's extremely hot and humid summer. (It was record shattering heat wave in my country...It dealt death blows to couple of my Cyms recovering from dehydration...)
So I took the chance, repotted it into new plastic basket with porous volcanic rock as media.
I was very nervous first...but in the end, it liked the new home so much that it began to grow as soon as possible. It grew some new roots, and even pushed out a new pseudobulb!
After killing couple of orchids, I find this...a NEW HOPE. Perhaps I might find much success next year? Only time will tell...
