Default Galeottia grandiflora

Again, a newer purchase, had it for about 3 weeks. It was purchased in bud.

I had long anticipated the flowers to bloom, and so far, 1 is in full bloom, the other is almost in complete bloom, the third is opening up and should be in full bloom by either tomorrow or the following day.

They are gorgeous flowers with succulent petals and sepals.

These are supposed to be fragrant, but they are most likely fragrant during the hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, (while I'm out at work :/). Will check them out again during the weekends when I'm at home during those hours.

This is why I love orchids in the Maxillaria, Zygopetalum, and Huntleya clades, they are awesome!

Gorgeous flowers. I like the striped petals.
You should provide orchid plants with higher humidity to bring out the fragrance. Your outdoor environment is very high in humidity, it should be able to bring out the true fragrance of the flowers. Manhattan in the summer is hot and humid but my indoor AC situation is very dry. I try to put most of my orchids outdoors in the summer.

That's something I didn't even think to try!

It's pretty arid here during the late morning to late afternoon hours, at night and early morning is when it is humid outdoors.

The Renanthera was grown on a bare cork mount after all, it could've been a little more dehydrated than I thought it was.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Very cool flowers on this one, Philip. The patterns on all segments make for a really attractive flower. Hopefully you'll be able to detect some fragrance before they wilt.

They are really cool flowers!

I love the fimbriated ridges on the lip. The dentition on the side lobes of the lip and callus are just awesome.

I came home a little after 5:00 pm today, and I think I caught the tail end of the flower putting out its scent. Will try to detect the scent tomorrow.

The fragrance on this orchid is very, very unique. It smells like lemonade with Vics mixed in it.

That fragrance sounds revolting!
I despise lemon scent and Vics makes me gag. Right before it clogs my nose and makes my head stuffy lol.

Beautiful beautiful flower
