In fact Promenaea belongs to Tribe Maxillarieae, Subtribe Zygopetalinae, and Bifrenaria to Tribe Maxillarieae, Subtribe Maxillariinae, ie, they are related but not so close

OK, folks, when my weirdo opens (2 spikes for a total of 9 flowers) opens I'll post a contest and the winner gets to water my orchids while I'm gone on vacation!
