Lycaste Corrimal
This is a primary hybrid of Lycaste aromatica and macrophylla. The blooms are nicely fragrant, but they don't even remotely remind me of aromatica's cinnamon-scented flowers. These are also of a much heavier substance than aromatica's blooms. I don't have any firsthand experience with macrophylla, so perhaps its genes were dominant in this cross.

I love those colors. I've yet to own a Lycaste, but that may change soon.

Nice! Mine just threw out its new growth, so we should be able to compare flowers soon. Did you get yours from TOF?

Hi, Steve. No, this one came from Marlow Orchids. It was actually a free seedling that Jim Marlow threw in with an order I placed with him a few years ago. I'll be interested to see what color variations there are between our two plants, so please post a couple of yours when it blooms.

Definitely. I've only seen one other bloom from this cross (last spring, from TOF) and it looked a bit different from yours. I really like those primary hybrids with some variation in the flowers. You never know what you're going to get!
