I have a Galeopetalum Starburst 'Parkside' that I got about 2 years ago. I may not be the best caretaker, because I think it's just now doing the 2nd PB since I bought it (and I thought it typically bloomed more than once a year). I know I've let it get a little drier than I should, but the PBs always plump back up.
Anyway, this is my first flowering (it was in flower shortly after I got in 3/22) and the new PB only started showing Nov or Dec and due to being on a cold back porch, it's progressed slowly...however, the leaves are just now opening and while watering, I was surprised to see a flower bud coming out of the base of the new growth. I was under the impression that the leaves would fully open before it would spike? Is this another case of it does what it wants or am I just wrong
