I grow it in my open inorganic mix. Outside but on the patio. It does not seem to want too much light but it likes it HOT
Clay pot with a deep saucer to keep water available for it

i could not answer as i was not sure but now a week later it is fully open and showing no sign of falling.

I have found that one of the cool things about these is that they tend to pop out new flowers over several weeks. So while you're watching an old one fade, a new one may be soon putting in an appearance (and because they are somewhat under the foliage, you may not even see them until they are almost ready to pop.)
