Just joined, glad I found the board. I plan on putting together an orchid terrarium in the near future and figured I'd start some research here.

I don't grow anybody in a terrarium but there are several members who do. I'm sure you'll be hearing from them. Check out the search section for terrarium. Maybe find some older threads to help you.

You can always post a new thread asking for set-up help.

Thanks Lorraine. Already started searching and came up with some good stuff. The NY Botanical Gardens are having their orchid show at the end of February, hoping to get some good ideas (or candidates for growing) from there too.

Do you have any orchids now, if so, what kind? What kind do you plan on getting for the terrarium? Take lots of pictures! These kids love pictures

no orchids yet. i'm doing research on what kind i'll get, i'm guessing it'll depend on whether or not i go with a high or low humidity setup. have to figure out what kind of plants work in what environment...

also figuring out the tank. i have 36" across, 12-14" deep and unlimited height. probably going to have a tank custom built.

i'm thinking of having a waterfall run down it with a mister at top. aside from that, not much except for the desire to do it

Myself, I have orchids all over the place. In two windows inside and a greenhouse outside and thinking about a home addition soon. Good luck with your project.
