Welcome back, Camille. Wow, just one more year! I vaguely remember that you started your Ph.D a couple years ago or so. That is pretty quick (from the US standard). Your projects must have gone smoothly. The final stretch could be a pretty tough one, but it is always good to have something like orchids to support your mental health! Good luck!

Yes, I started a bit over 3 years ago. But the system is different in Europe, and in the Netherlands a PhD is 4 years. Your salary stops at that point, which is very good motivation to get the thesis done on time! I also need to finish on time (August) for the simple reason that my best friend is getting married in mid August, so I really want to have it all finished before flying to the US for it.

Welcome back to Orchid Board Camille, good to see you here again

I've not been about as much either the last couple of months, or much online anywhere for that matter, but trying to keep looking in now and then.

Glad a reasonable number of your orchids survived, good idea to concentrate on the favourites. I think that's what I need to do in the coming months.

I noticed you haven't been on Facebook much lately Rosie. Not that I'm there much either.

I also thought I'd get back here since orchids are one of the things that keep me sane, when I do have time for them. I'm looking forward to the orchid show this saturday. I've preordered some plants from my favorite grower, including a blooming size Phal gigantea for only 25€. I've been wanting one for many many years, but other than the fact that mature plants are hard to find and often have a price tag to match that scarcity, I never had bright enough windows for this species.

I guess we all wander away for a while. I did the same. Very nice to see you back and congrats on that apartment.
