Just saying hello.
Default Just saying hello.

Hello everyone. I live near Ontario in northern New York and have been growing orchids for just a few months. They are addictive though (no one warned me). I grow many, many plants outdoors but have not done much indoors except to grow seedlings. My preoccupation right now is with the fragrant varieties of orchids, and I look for advice and leads on who has the best ones and what they are.

Glad you found us! Yes, orchids are VERY addicting! Many orchids are fragrant. Oncidiums Twinkle (quite small) and Sharry Baby (can become a monster) are both very popular and do well indoors on windowsills or under lights.

I'm sure you will get many more suggestions - there's a thread somewhere for fragrant orchids - gonna look for it.

Orchids with a strong scent

Welcome to Orchid Board! There are many fragrant orchids. I have some very fragrant cattleyas including some smaller ones that can be grown indoors. I have some encyclias that are also very fragrant. I'm sure some members can guide you to other species that are fragrant. Good luck.
