Default New to Orchids, New Here

Hi all, I'm Lisa from Columbia, SC USA and I just started with Orchids in early April, 2007. Since then I have collected 13. I have 9 Phals., 2 Paphs., a Brs., and a Brsdm. Overall, my Phals. are doing quite well; I have 4 growing new leaves at present and one preparing to bloom a second time off of it's original spike. I just received my Paphs, Brs., and brsdm. last week for my birthday. A friend took me on a day trip to the Carter & Holmes nursery and my family contributed to my bank acct. so I could pick out several new additions. In addition to my Orchids, my interests are reading, antiquing and my dogs, Cooper, a Boxer and Riis, a Boykin Spaniel. I look forward to meeting new people and learning a lot. Lisa

Hi Lisa... to Orchidboard!

Sounds like you've got a nice collection going
We'd love to see some hotos:

We've got lots of great folks sharing their growing experiences...this is a wonderful place to learn

We also have some gorgeous pics in our gallery and a chat room where a number of us usually start gathering at around 8 pm EST. A second chat gets started around 2 pm EST to accomodate our European neighbors It's amazing...a few days ago, Dorothy and I were chatting about orchids with 4 members from Germany and 2 from England! Way cool

I see you have dogs too I have a boxer named Samantha and she's a riot!!! I'm sure you realize that they are nothing like any other breed
We have a forum devoted to our Pets, post some pics...I'd love to see your babies

WELCOME
Glad you can join us here at OB
There is a plethora of info, experienced orchidteers ( I just made that up ) and some kidding around.

The Euro chat was a good time! It's nice to talk with people from across the big pond!

I can't stay away from the orchid grower's sites! I also have a Boxer, named Fred, and he is my baby, totally unlike any other dog I've ever been owned by, he's a riot! We live in Florida, WELCOME!!
