hello everyone
Hi everyone,
I'm a bit new to the forum, I actually joined last month but I've been so busy that I haven't really been able to post or read anything since. I am planning on doing a lot of reading though, to, well, not catch up but to familiarise myself with the site.
I grow my orchids in Florida, in Miami, to be exact and right now, at this very minute it's pouring rain outside. Thunder and lightning and everything. The one good thing about the rain, I don't have to remember to water my orchids, the bad thing, it started raining about 5 minutes after I fertilized. duh! I need to look at the weather report before I fertilize.
I grow my orchids outside, the ones in baskets are hung under my mango tree and the others are under a phifertex awning unless they're in bloom, at which time I take them to the front porch which faces North. About twenty, give or take, of them are flowering right now and it looks and smells so delicious in the morning, I usually eat breakfast out there.
erm, well I think that's all I really have to say right now... thanks for reading!

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Does all that rain mean the drought in Florida is over???
Glad you could join us. As you can see, you are in great company down there in Florida.

thanks for the welcome
Aw, it's always nice to feel welcomed into a large group such as this where friendships have been thriving for months if not years already and you're just a newcomer.
For those of you who asked for pictures, I'll post a few in a little while...if not later today then tomorrow.
cb977 - would love to send you some of our rain, the ground is just super-saturated and the humidity levels are through the roof...good for the orchids bad for the humans.
justatypn - I grow phals, catt/alliances, dens, vanda/alliances, one or two onc/alliances and that's it because I don't have very good luck with the others. I tried a phap. a couple of years ago and it lived for a year and a half before my inexperienced hand killed it. :-\ I'm not even going to tell you what I did with the noble den. I got about 4 years ago. *hangs head in shame* OH, THE HORROR!
Tindomul1of9 - as far as I know the drought has not subsided, it's raining in all the wrong parts! *shrug* Bloody annoying if you ask me!

Dorothy, I've been reading around the forums and you seem to have a very silly sense of humour. Much enjoyment!
