first up is the mystery orchid i found in the yard...
Mystery ended..it's Epidendrum radicans. They grow in the ground in the sun and grow like a weed here in S. Fla. I was given 2 pieces and I have 3 decent size plants now. I put a couple stakes in the middle and tie them up to keep then neat. Water with the rest of the yard. 3x a week. They get fertalized when I hit the rest of the outside chids.
So these grow in the ground you say? I found it growing on a fallen pine tree next to a Staghorn.. Would you recommend potting this in soil? If so, what type do you think would be most beneficial?
THANKS!
Welcome! I live in So Flo too. I use those fertilizers since they're easy to get at any Home Depot and they work well. You can check out my shade house and some of my collection here: Flickr: SP2340's Photostream

I just have mine growing in my regular garden soil. Nothing special. This chid does very well with a sunny location. When it has lots of arial rots you can trim and plunk right back into the garden in another spot. It will take off again.
