Hi. I am a new member and have many orchids in my collection. I guess that puts me in the addicted catagory. I am looking forward to all the great information that lies in all you good people and in all the posts and threads that are already here. See you on the boards and in chat!

Hello All!

Timdomul1of9 - nice to see a neighbor . I am on Long Island just over the border in Nassau county. Are you going to the International Orchid Show at the Rock in NYC? It is running Thurs 4/19/07 - Sunday the 22nd. I plan on going Friday. I went to the orchid show at the Bronx Botanical Gardens before Easter and had a photo orgy with all the orchids unfortunately I lost my cable to my computer! grrrrrr ... will post some pics once I find it!

Smartie2000 - my list is in my profile but I can give you a quick breakdown .. I have 4 phalies in bloom, 4 cats - my apple blossom is in bloom .. mmm what a fragrance and it only 'scents' in the morning to about 1 or 2 pm .. it goes from a rosey to a peppery aroma as the day wears on .. my other 3 cats are babies without blooms or stalks. I have a giant miltonia ( miltoniopsis) with over 30 blooms .. not sure of the species .. am attaching a pic of the flower. And a baby non flowered epidendrum floribundum x epi cordigidum 'paradise' that is suppose to be fragrant! I can't wait!

Rsfrid - Thanks for the rain .. .. grrrrr ... my cattleyas are giving me dirty looks .. I am praying for sun by Wednesday!

I have been reading up on as much info as I can and am finding it very educational. I am happy to be part of such a warm community of people sharing the love and passion of 'chids'.
