Hi all! I first got into orchids several years ago in Louisiana and killed a few phalaenopsis before I figured out what I was doing -- but once I did, I had cattleyas and dendrobiums blooming and growing well. I moved here about four years ago and left my orchids down south, but I'm in an apartment with a good space for them now, so I am back. Picked up a Miltassia and then a Cattleya at Lowe's, and both have new growths doing well, so I took a plunge last night and ordered a few from a grower. They do better in groups, after all.
One of the ones I'm getting, I just realized I'm not sure of the species and that may affect how I set up their habitat. It's definitely a dendrobium and the grower lists it as "Den Blue Sky"; can't find any other information for that name online, though. I know I've seen flowers of this form before, but that's not telling me enough. Once it actually gets here, of course, I can take pictures of the whole plant but I'm curious now so I'm attaching the grower's photo of the bloom. Any guesses?
