Greetings fm SW Georgia
Brrrrrr! Greetings from SW Ga. I am a newbie when it comes to orchids. About 1 yr now and have about 100 orchids and mbr of two local clubs. Have small grnhse (too bad for me) and wish I would have built a larger one. Navigation on this forum seems complicated to me-maybe a mistake but, time will tell. Don

Hi Don... to Orchidboard!
You're doing rather nicely for a newbie...100 orchids in a year, two clubs and a greenhouse! That's great! Being a member of a local orchid society is such a wonderful way to learn. Have you had the opportunity to be involved in any shows? It is a great experience Lots of work but so gratifying!!!
We've got lots of great people on this board, all willing to share their experiences.
There's a nightly chat starting around 8pm est. It's a nice way to meet a few other members. I always learn something new in there.
If you have any questions about getting around the neighborhood, just ask...one of us will get an answer to you in short time

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Glad you could join up. I have not felt the need to join in any orchid societies because I got this one , hope you find us just as useful as an orchid society.

Tin, are there any local clubs near you? I didn't grow the 'chids when I was in NY so I have no clue. If there's any way for you to go to a meeting, the experience will be one to remember

Thanks to everyone who sent their "welcomes". Tin, I did join an Orchid Society that has mostly older members and it is amazing the expertise they have if you can get them to share. (Most do willingly, tho some have "trade secrets") They meet only once a month and I have to travel 50 miles so this forum is great in between time. Thanks again!

I hear yah, Don. For me it's an hour each way to a local meeting. I have to think about it before travelling that far for a meeting. A show is different, however.
