Hey all,

I joined a while ago, but haven’t posted much yet.
Living in the Netherlands at the moment.

Originally I started growing orchids over 10 years ago, but had a big gap due to moving country etc.

Now at it for 3 years.
Not sure how many I’ve got in total.
My main focus are in the cattleya alliance, also phaius and pleiones.

Hey Jago,
welcome, hope to see some of your pleiones. I like how they flower over christmas, was thinking I should get some but they are hard to find sometimes.
Is there a certain time of year that is good to buy them?
I have seen a tiny little bulb with no leaves or roots being sold as a dormant healthy pleione but is that what a pleione should look like? Sorry if I am bombarding you with questions - I haven't seen many pleione growers on here but they seem ideal for my cold kitchen windowsill so I want to get one too.

I also am eager to hear about Pleione culture... I have had success with only one, P. formosanum - which does not seem to need frost. (I can't grow tulips, either, for the same reason) How do you prepare yours for winter?
