Hey guys! I'm new into orchids, and this forum has been the basis of my learning. Every problem that I've had, I've found answers here. Thankyou for all of your help, and I'm looking forward to learning more about keeping orchids.

I'm a true beginner. I just got my first orchid (a phalaenopsis) in January from Lowes... I'm sad to say that soon after I got it, it started to wilt. So I came here for help.

Taking advice from one of the threads, I took it out of the soggy sphagnum that it was potted in and saw that alot of the roots had died off. My assumption is that it was over watered... but I'm no expert by any means. So, I trimmed the dead roots, repotted it into fresh media, and it seems to be trying to bounce back. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it'll pull through.

I figured since I was here so often with concern for my mistreated plant, I should just join and get the most out of the forum that I can.
