Is this an orchid?

This little plant is one of those $3 Costa Farms plants(the rest of which are succulents and cacti) at Walmart and I am wondering if it is an orchid and if so, what species?

The tag doesn't say anything remotely specific, unfortunately. Just "house plant" or something like that.

A cute plant but not an orchid. This is Ledebouria socialis. It is a South Africa native and quite succulent like. My daughter grows this and loves it. It has pretty flowers and is drought tolerant. I believe it is poisonous so keep it away from kitties, dogs or children. It is easy to grow.

Yes, Ledebouria socialis. Old name Scilla violacea, so you might find it under that name.

Silver Squill is another name. It's one of my favorites! It will flower under ideal conditions too. Nice find!
