Hi everyone,
I got this oncidium as a division from a friend and planted it a couple of months ago. We had an unusually cold winter here where I live in Brazil (for our standards) and it didn't do much for quite some time, but now it finally flowered.
I don't know if you can tell by the picture, but the flowers are tiny. I'd say less than 2 cm across. The plant itself is compact either.
This one is really common around here, so I'm guessing it could be a species, but I couldn't find anything conclusive. My best guess so far is Oncidium flexuosum.
Any ideas?
Here is a look at the plant itself. Please don't mind the cords, I'm using them to attach a phalaenopsis to the tree.
And here are the flowers. It's not much but in a few years they'll be producing hundreds of blooms, literally.
