Hey, all - a friend said this orchid was given to her, but she doesn't know what it is. I thought maybe a den, but then she described what I believe are pbulbs, not canes. Here is her description:
"The leaves are at the base, atop a bulbish thing that acts like a tank for water. Now their are shoots coming from the base, as the blooms that came from three heavy stems all fade and fall. What a mystery."
I'm pretty new, so I don't know. Do any of you? Thanks!
Grammatophyllum scriptum var. citrinum seems to be to me.
They do get very large and can have 100's of bloom on many spikes. Yours has a good start to becoming a very large plant. . I found mine too large to be manageable in my small greenhouse. Took up too much valuable space.
