Miltoniopsis or Miltonia?
Default Miltoniopsis or Miltonia?

Googling around has just confused me as to which is which. I was wondering if what we have here is a miltoniopsis or miltonia. I'm pretty sure it's a miltoniopsis but I wanted to double check so I know we're treating it right. Also, the leaves on it are quite pale, but I think that's normal with miltoniopsis (especially one this white)?

Miltoniopsis. Yes, I think light green foliage is good.

One general rule is that Miltoniopsis have the cleft in the lip which is evident here.

Another confirmation that your plant is a Miltoniopsis, and it looks healthy. Assuming you are following normal fertilizer use with micronutrients I would have no concern about the color of the leaves.

Just remember that there are exceptions! But I have found this "rule" useful too.

I don't know about the majority of Miltonias, but flavescens gets several blooms per spike

So does Miltonia reginelli.

I have never heard of Miltonia only getting a single bloom per spike.

Sorry. I must be referencing from the Miltonia spectabilis. But please educate me on these species and flowering patterns.
