Beautiful Indigo Intergenetic NOID
We'll, we went to Paulino's Gardens during our lunch break this past Friday and I found this no tag beauty!
What sort of intergeneric do you think it is?
Check out the double stacked bulbs!
And just so you know the fragrance is of green bananas.

I am impressed, Gwen. Is that the true color? It seems so blue for an Oncidinae!

Yes! The color is very close. . .it's a funky indigo, purple with lighter blue areas and the dark maroon in the center. . .velvety texture.

Looks like Vuylstekeara to me. I think these are just lovely and I would love to have one of my own. I passed up one at my local grocery this summer. I kept thinking about it but when I went back a few days later it was gone.

You're welcome! I've seen these with dark rose colored flowers and the indigo/purple flowers. Either way it's a winner for sure!

I hate trying to identify orchid hybrids from photos but agree with Quiltergal that it is a Vuylstekeara. Quite likely Melissa Brianne. The two most popular clones of this orchid are "Tawny Tart" and "Shady Lady". This one looks like varity "Shady Lady".
