Thank you for the wonderful photo's Harry! My Den rhodostictum I bought earlier this year has no where near the color in the petals as yours! It nice to see pictures for comparison!

After reading everybody's ideas and having seen some of the ones mentioned I think I found the right one. It is a hybrid of atroviolaceum and alexandre called Den. Wonder Nishii I don't have a picture but I found one in Complete guide to orchids by ortho and my Orchid Wiz program. I'm sure you could find it on line too. Great guesses everyone considering all of these look so much alike and are beautiful plants.

Well you can't be 100 % sure. It may likely be but could be a specie or a hybrid cultivar. There are variations within the same specie or hybrid. Most likely has atroviolaceum in it.

Photo 1 is Den Wonder Nishii. Photo 2 is it's parent Den alexandrae. Wonder Nishii differs quite a bit in appearance from Ron's photo. It has very curvy petals & lip due to the alexandrae influence. Wonder Nishii's lip & tips of petals are also very slender & pointed , again due to alexandrae influence. This particular primary hybrid has very uniform offspring.
