Sure looks like one to me! Wait til it gets 3 roots 2-3 inches long before you remove it.

Woo Hoo!! you got a keiki there. Be patient and wait till you have several roots going on. It will be fine living off the mother till it's time to remove.

Yep, that is a keiki starting to form. When it is time to remove, take a good sharp sterile knife and remove it from the stem.

How long would anyone care to guess it will take for it to get that big? Never done this before just curious for an estimate of now long i'll have to wait also can I remove it at that point without taking the spike? the spike has other new growth area farther along the stem then the keiki is.

For a guess I would say 4 or more months. They need a few roots that are at least a couple of inches long first before they are removed. They can usually be removed without damaging the flower spike.
