Is this a Renanthera monachica? Male
Default

David, a friend posted a pic of a Renanthera in another forum to confirm the name. The first reply was that it was coccinea, 2nd philippinensis etc. I researched all possible names and found the name coccinea on atleast 5 different flowers, philipp' on 3 different flowers, a number of different imshootiana.
We can't actually confirm what it is by photo because, even from it country of origin, there are too many conflicting photos. I've had a look for yours but again ????? I suspect its a hybrid but the parents would be a guess at best.

Hey David im not sure exactly which renanthera you have but i do know ther are only a few species in the whole genus so if you do have a species it wont be too bad to identify. I would look into renanthera storei and isosepala which have that charachteristic growth and flowering habit. monachia is far smaller than your plant and imschootiana has a much more rounded flower so i doubt your plant is it. Good luck
