OrchidWiz still shows it under that name. My copy is up to date. Just noticed a name mispelling of the genera. Should be Neocogniauxia hexaptera. IOSPE PHOTOS

the correct name is Neocogniauxia hexaptera. (there's another "i" in the genus name)

the only synonym is Epidendrum hexapterum

Yup,thats it.:Neocaugniauxia hexaptera from Hispaniola. The other species in the genus is N.monophylla from Jamaica. Both stunning, but not the easiest to grow.(I've lost hexaptera and still looking for another one.

Hi, Ramón,
Cogniaux first described this plant in 1912 giving it the name Epidendrum hexapterum. A year later Schlechter transferred it to the new genus Neocogniauxia adapting the masculin haxapterum to hexaptera. So, Epidendrum hexapterum is synonym (or basionym) for Neocogniauxia hexaptera.
