Default Stupid Question - what's this?

just got it, not idea what it is
looks like the previous owner didn't take very good care of it, probably needs higher humidity, but i can't even figure out which alliance it belongs to.

Looks like it might be a Degarmoara or an Epidendrum to me. I would try removing the dried sheaths from around the bulbs, giving it a quick bath in tepid water and then pot it up in a very open mix...but do not water it until you start to see some root growth; try to keep the relative humidity around 65-75% and no bright or direct light.

thanks. i thought it might be something from the cattleya alliance. i don't think it's a degarmoara, or anything else from the oncidium alliance.

it has active root growth, but i guess you can't see it very well in the picture. any suggestions on how to care for an epi? i just got an Epi Star Valley, and Nanodes matthewsii (Epi porpax), and this one, and have no idea how to care for one.

thanks, i already noticed that. as i said, the previous owner didn't take very good care of it. it had a bad case of root rot, but the rotten roots are gone and it has healthy new ones coming in. hopefully, i'll be able to get it to bloom, and get a better idea what it is.
