Default Intersting Dendrobium

I was really excited when this plant went to bloom but I have no idea what it is. The flowers are slightly twisted (literally) and has a faint scent. I was thinking that maybe it was crossed with a Schomburgkia? Any ideas?

Well, you're looking at a spatulata type den. THey are also referred to as Antelope dens. Basically, treat is like a Phal type den.

As for the schomburgkia bit, no, they don't breed, Schoms (Cattleya alliance) and Dendrobiums. the similarities betwen certain Schomburgkia species and certain SPatulata Den species is just a good example of convergent evolution. Similar pollinators lead to similar structures, even half a globe away.

More likely is that you have a hybrid with some lineale in the background.

I wouldn't expect this to be a hybrid based on who I bought it from.

Thanx for your help!

Hmmmm. well, I'm no expert in Dendrobiums. If you know someone who is good with Den species, take the plant to them and see what they say.

Hold on, Hold on...as I've have said before, I suffer from keyboard impairment, what was in my head did not come out through my finger...I EXPECTED what I bought TO BE a hybrid based on who I bought it from, he has a lot of really cool species AND hybrids!....I'm sorry Cj...I didn't mean to sound so "matter-of-fact"...let alone pissy....
