Thanks to everyone for the help and kind words.

Dorothy, M. brysiana looks like a spot-on match for one of my plants.

My still unidentified second flower is very similar to the first, but the lip is mostly white with some light purple veining. It's tough to get a picture because the spike grew about 6' up into the tree. However, some of the other spikes look like they'll be much easier to shoot when they bloom. I'll post better pics then.

Meanwhile, I'll look up the expert and give him a shout.

Steve

There are a few that are variations in color within species .. so use the flower's form for identification especially the lip shape.
Here is thomsoniana - a smaller sized myrmeco .. IOSPE PHOTOS

Here is Myrmecophila brysiana 'grande-crema' x self - http://www.tropiflora.com/creport/cr16-1/3720-2.jpg

Then again, it could be a hybrid ..

Are either of them fragrant?

Do send your photos to Paul - I'd love to know what he says

I think I'm going to go to Home Depot and ask them what do they do with their dying plants that are taken off from the inventory. I might be able to get some....LOL
