Dorothy, M. brysiana looks like a spot-on match for one of my plants.
My still unidentified second flower is very similar to the first, but the lip is mostly white with some light purple veining. It's tough to get a picture because the spike grew about 6' up into the tree. However, some of the other spikes look like they'll be much easier to shoot when they bloom. I'll post better pics then.
Meanwhile, I'll look up the expert and give him a shout.

There are a few that are variations in color within species .. so use the flower's form for identification especially the lip shape.

I think I'm going to go to Home Depot and ask them what do they do with their dying plants that are taken off from the inventory. I might be able to get some....LOL
Only in South Florida...no alleys here in central Fl but if any here that I am not aware of...ain't gonna happen, so will leave the great finds to you in which yes many of us are jealous. wtg
