I inherited this orchid about 7 years ago and its put out maybe 3 new bulbs. I've alternated between moss and bark trying to get a bloom but no luck. I'm thinking I might put it in a terrarium to increase the humidity and see if that helps? Is there any way to confirm what it is so that I can tailor the light/mix/temps in the hopes of getting a bloom? I'm beyond frustrated and any help would be great. I've come this close to turfing him.
Worth a try... if a Bulbo, it probably can benefit from more humidity. Also, what are temperatures? It probably could benefit from a bit more warmth too.
My temperature range is 16 - 24 with about a 50% humidity. If I put it in a terrarium would I have to be careful about the sun? I'm thinking the glass would burn the leaves? I have lots of luck with phals and dendrobium but this guy has me stumped. And sorry I called you Roberta but its Carl I see. Thanks Again
Susan
Actually, I AM Roberta... Carl? No. I think that Phalaenopsis conditions should be very good for this one (assuming Bulbo...) And some of these are just reluctant bloomers. So patience...
