Mystery orchid?
I found this in a cactus nursery and no one knew what it was or why it was there, so i took it with me. It’s planted in soil. I don’t see any orchids like this in my books. I think it’s Spathoglottis but the flowers differ from
What i see online. Thanks!

Also agree with everyone, Bletilla striata. These are cold-hardy (they go dormant in winter) I have grown them both in pots and in the ground... the ones in the ground grow better, even though my garden soil is rather horrid clay. I don't know how much cold they will tolerate when dormant, other members of the Board, who grow them in climates a lot colder than mine, can advise.

I grow them in a clay pot, always outside with min temps in winter near freezing. As long as they don't get wet, they will be ok.
A curiousity: is one of the few orchids that don't need special requirements for the seeds to germinate (although I never tried it myself).

Officially these are rated as hardy in zones 6-9, zone 5 with mulching.
I have them in the ground in zone 6 (6b?), where they have multiplied profusely without any care for 15 years.
